We're sorry, the hikes are currently not available due to a lack of hiking guides.
East Bali offers excellent hiking possibilities. The region around Amed and Tulamben is one of the areas where you can still experience real Balinese culture and lifestyle. The options are endless. Seasonal waterfalls (December – may), mountains, villages, jungle and places where not many foreigners go.
We offer hikes for all levels of fitness and experience. From 2-3 hours village hikes upto full day 5-8 hours hikes.
Just have a look at our options and check out if there is anything you like. We also have a few other hikes on offer which are not mentioned here.
Bunutan Village Walk + Rice fields (All levels)
This is a gentle walk through the village of Bunutan. Starting from our resort in Amed we will follow the road downhill until we reach the river. From there we continue throughout farmers lands and small villages. We can see how the people live around this area while we continue or walk with the slopes of Gunung Seraya on the right side of us. We will be in the shade of the trees for this part of the hike. Once we hit the end of the track we will turn right and walk uphill for a while to have a view over the rice fields above Bunutan. In rainy season we can have a refreshing dip in the river. From here we will go back to the resort.
Walking time: 2-3 hours
Full Day Hike (High fitness and Skill)
This is a full day hike leaving early morning. The hike takes you high up in the mountains surrounding Amed. Breathtaking views over rice fields and over the valley. The first part of the hike is quite flat but soon we will be hiking quite a steep mountain range. We pass small local houses and we cross the river (rainy season) from time to time. We will reach the top and follow the road for a while before we descend down through the trees and jungle. We follow a small track that winds down next to the river. There are a few waterfalls on the way (rainy season). We will reach the village of Banglai and we continue or last part of the hike following the irrigation channel through the rice fields.
This hike desires a high fitness level and is not adviced for small kids. The hike is about 15 km and involves steep climbs and descends.
Walking time: 6-8 hours (depending on fitness)
